Hello TIU member,
here at TIU we use the Microsoft Sign In login portal to manage access to all our TIU sites and portals.
If you are experiencing any login issues it could be related to these possible reasons (See below for troubleshooting instructions)
- Wrong Login Site
- Inactive/Disabled Account
- Password
- Authentication (MFA)
- Browser using the wrong account
1. Wrong Login Site
All TIU logins should authenticated through the same TIU branded Microsoft Sign In login portal.
If you get any other login prompt, please double check the URL (Common TIU URLs listed below)
2. Inactive/Disabled Account
If you're presented with a "This username may be incorrect.." error message, your account may be Inactive.
Please contact the IT Help Desk (Contact info below) for assistance.
3. Password
If you see a "Your account or password is incorrect.." error message, double check your password.
Any issues use the 'reset now' link or go to password.tiu.edu to use the Forgot Password tool.
If you still have trouble with your password, please contact the IT Help Desk (Contact info below)
4. Authentication (MFA)
If you are having issues with your MFA (Multi Factor Authentication), please click "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now" link to see if you have other authentication methods available to you (i.e. phone number).
If you have your Personal phone number setup as an authentication method, you can use the "Text +X XX.." or "Call..+X XX.." to authenticate.
If you do not have wifi/internet on your phone, you can use the One Time Password Code (6 digit code found in the MS Authenticator app) to use the "Use a Verification Code" option to authenticate.
If you have recently changed phones and still have access to the Microsoft Authenticator app on your old phone, you can still authenticate through the app using wifi to connect to the internet.
Once you have access, you can go to mysignins.tiu.edu to manage your Authentication methods. We recommend having at least two methods added, MS Authenticator app and a personal phone number.

5. Browser using the wrong account
Another common issue is another Microsoft or Google account signed in at the same time.
Please be sure that you are signed out of all other accounts and signed in with only your TIU credentials.
A troubleshooting tip is to use an Incognito/Private/Guest browser tab to start with a "fresh" browser session and try logging in. If you are able to log in using a "fresh" browser session, you may need to clear out your browser's cache/cookies.
We also recommend that all staff and students use the Chrome browser and setting up a Chrome Browser Profile to differentiate between your different personal, work, and school accounts.
